The Decemberists were amazing, the sound was ridiculously clear and they had hilarious props such as a large whale mouth that ate the bass player and the audience. The opening band was good as well which is always a plus. Sons and Daughters, must listen to more.

So I'm debating immigration with my mother...and instead of countering my points...she cops out with the almighty "You're just a teenager and don't know anything." Yes, she has more experience etc etc, but to completely say that my opinion has no meaning because I am younger than her and therefore have no idea what I'm talking about is quite annoying. She does it every time...I feel like she should understand that while I may not always agree with her, that doesn't mean I disagree because I'm stupid or inexperienced. That's why it's an opinion.

One or two times it's been, "Mom this is a one-sided argument, you haven't countered or listened to anything I've said."

Response: "Yup, because I don't care about your opinion and it doesn't really matter."

Huzzah! There shall be pictures of Kori and I in cosplay.

On another note, after we picked Kori up from the airport, we were pleasantly surprised to find the pre-registered line to be tiny which allowed us to get our passes in under half an hour, safe and sound. We then made finishing touches on our costumes and put them on for pictures. Tomorrow, we shall take more pictures in the parking lot, and maybe one or two in front of the convention center. Mum has given me permission to use the rest of the pictures on the camera for my own personal use...which I like very much...very much indeed. I've been meaning to take pictures for friends that have requested pictures of my friends and me. And this way, I won't have to pay for them, since it was my mother's choice to take pictures of otakon. I win.

Later that night, Kori properly introduced me to FMA. It was fairly interesting, we shall continue the watching tomorrow after we get back from Otakon.

I love being a nerd.

As of 4/4:30 tonight...I shall finally begin to emerge back into society as my recovery days shall be over. This is the time when my mother will pick me up to go to her office to wait until it is time to pick up Kori at the airport. Granted I shall not be doing my regular activities until a later date but baby steps, Haus, baby steps.

For those of you who understood the reference, I congratulate you on your knowledge of Bill Murray movies.

On another note, I no longer sound like a 12 year old boy whose voice is changing. I sort of have my voice back but when I try to have a conversation for longer than 10 minutes I am sometimes blessed with a dying cough that causes me to lose my voice temporarily. Later, I will cough again and my voice will be back to normal, just like the freak I am. I feel empowered.

I am also no longer relying on my pain meds, I only needed them twice yesterday, once when I woke up and once at 9:30 at night, this is a great improvement from when I was taking them every 4 hours and would never stop truly being in uncomfortable pain. I find that my throat is most sore when I wake up due to the lack of fluids entering my throat. Tomorrow, I plan to try and wake up and drink lots of water right away to see if I'll have to take them, if I don't, that will be a blessing seeing as I would not like to start moving right away and be loopy and nauseous and have to fall into drug-induced sleep in my mother's office while Kori is waiting in line.

I meant to write a very short entry, and it has already emerged into three legitimate paragraphs and one "anecdote-let" as Nicole would put it. My life is sad. And with this last paragraph, I shall leave you to read the wonders of my Truman Capote biography for Wenker's class. Oh wait, I lied, I'm going to post my schedule for all you nosy people who wonder if you have classes with me.

1st-AP Calc 1&2 (Morrison)
2nd-AP US (Faya)
3rd-Advanced Acting/Creative Writing IV (Leifert/Jones)
4th-AP Eng 11 (Wenker)
5th-Creative Writing III/Philosophy (Jones/Stange)
C Lunch
6th-AP Spanish 5 (Muirhead)
7th-GT Physics (Swanson)

They put me in GT Physics instead of AP Physics B...-_-...apparently the only period they have it is third...and my mother wouldn't let me exchange Creative Writing because I'm seriously considering it being one of my majors. Ah well, I just may take it my senior year instead. Now, I shall go read the life of Truman Capote...that disturbed child.

So I'm getting closer and closer to the days where I will see two of my greatest friends from Ohio, yes Andrew, the state that shall not be named. And, as much as I'm removed from Ohio and prefer Baltimore's city life, I have to say, I am incredibly excited.

Kori will be visiting for Otakon from Thursday night to Monday morning. In these days I shall have with him, we plan to watch a bit of FMA to properly introduce me, see lots of anime at Otakon and have him meet a lot of my friends on Sunday hopefully in a large frisbee game. The excitement of seeing him is beyond comprehension. I didn't fully realize how awesome Kori was until I moved and we started speaking online quite a bit. He's one of the few that I really enjoy speaking to online. Conversations of Universal Soldier and Otakon shall forever be burned into my cranium. I can't wait to see him, I really do miss him quite a bit. <3 Kori!

Stacy will be late Saturday afternoon and leaving Wednesday morning. In these days I plan to have long 4-hour conversations with her catching up and telling stories like we did at Coventry. I love talking to her. She's one of my few girlfriends and I'm glad she is. I have plans to properly introduce her to amazing bands, Interpol, and in general, party with her. If we have time, we will travel to amazing vintage stores like we did in Coventry, and if we don't buy anything, it'll be fine, because it's awesome seeing all the old clothing etc. I hate shopping, but seeing a flapper dress from the '20s is just cool. I adore you Stacy!

All in all, I feel from Thursday to Wednesday will be filled with amazing memories, good times and hopefully, food other than pureed carrots and sweet potatoes.

I'm lying in my bed peacefully, reading Speaker For The Dead, yes, yes I'm a nerd, I'm currently rereading the Enders series because I have no wish to extend my knowledge at the current moment. Although I'm reading a Truman Capote biography, which I have to say, is absolutely fascinating. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying the song "Club Foot" by Kasabian (which I recommend tremendously) and reading about the piggies and their choice of names such as "Cups" which is clearly a mark from human involvement, and my dear beloved cat, Max, decides that it would be a joyous time to leap onto my book and curl up on my chest. His 14 lbs of bulk land on my chest and I cough, (not recommended for the tonsilectomy), and I reach for an ice cube by the side of my bed. Seeing that my arm is not currently smoothing his fur down, Max leaps onto the table and spills the ice cubes all over the floor. I'm not allowed to bend down for ten days, so you can imagine my fury as I realize that I have no possible way of removing the ice cubes from the carpet unless my mother is awoken. Luckily, it was almost time for my amoxicillin, so I found that that was not a serious problem and my mother saved the day by removing the ice cubes from my carpet.

Max is now asleep next to my feet on my bed.

Today, I hope to enjoy the wonders of Rocky Horror Picture Show and a delicious smoothie from Zia's.

It seems like everyone who reads my lj and is currently at home for the summer wants me to update. So that I may silence their cries, I am updating. What has happened...I've played a lot of frisbee, a lot of capture the flag, a lot of poker, been running, general fun. I finished Drivers Ed...I'm in trig until the end of July. I'm getting my tonsils out in August. It's all good fun. I'm in Kat's Mage campaign...the Red Sox are winning. I don't game as much as I used to nor do I hang out at Legends constantly. I'm going to a bunch of ren fairs at some point this summer or if we don't end up going...Broadway. Many people make me a very happy person, namely Owen and Andrew and co, Nicole, Haus, Rubun, etc etc. I'm having a high tea today so that Mum can meet some people...and I think that's about it. Oh, Artscape :D and my Mum's going to be away next weekend. Anyway, I need to finish setting the table and things, so I'm off.

Oh, I've read a lot of books as well.

I recommend:
Life of Pi
Atonement
The Wanting Seed

some others I'm lazy about...give me a break...it's 9:30 in the morning.

ack, I've been tagged again!

List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist and the song in your blog along with your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.

1. Comfort Eagle-Cake
2. Obstacle 1-Interpol
3. Obstacle 2-Interpol
4. So Long And Thanks For All The Fish-HGTTG
5. PDA-Interpol

Does it matter that three songs are by Interpol? They're amazing.

I'm tagging...booksoverbombs, trashcanchica, carlitabonita, lo que sea and usedandnew

Well, since people have been yelling at me about the fact that I haven't put in an entry about my weekend and other things, I'm putting one in.

Saturday: Honfest was awesome, beehives and things and lots and lots of makeup. Oh and going into Legends and confusing Rob and Ami.

Sunday: I'm not quite remembering what I did Sunday, but I'm sure I did something.

Monday: Frisbee after school, with lots of people and Kate. Kate left early to go swimming. There was frisbee + food + poker. Ahhhh poker. How I love thee.

Tuesday: Took my last exam, cut the last three periods to go running with Owen and his brother, Albert. We ran, I had a hypoglycimia attack and had to go eat something. Then we hung out with people, I had my piano lesson, had Owen pick me up at Legends, then had a night filled with frisbee, pizza and disappointment of not having midnight capture the flag. I spent the night at Owen's.

Today: We went running with Doichan, Brian, Owen and Albert. Then, off to Ward's for frisbee and air conditioning. We went back to my house for a bit and then off to see Batman Begins. Then, I saw Ladies in Lavender with me mum. And now I'm here.

I love frisbee...so much...
